Intraoral Camera

The intraoral camera is a small, pen-like device that allows us to take detailed images of the inside of your mouth. This tool is incredibly valuable for identifying and monitoring potential issues such as soft tissue lesions, cracks, and enamel wear. The images are displayed on a monitor, so you can see exactly what we see. This visual aid helps you better understand your oral health and the treatments we recommend.

iTero® Element™ Intraoral Scanner

We are proud to be a digital impression practice with the iTero Element Scanner. This state-of-the-art digital impression system eliminates the need for messy, uncomfortable, putty impressions. The iTero Element Scanner captures a detailed 3D model of your teeth and gums quickly and accurately. This technology is ideal for creating crowns, bridges, implants, and Invisalign® clear aligners and retainers.

With the iTero Element Scanner, you can breathe and swallow normally during the impression process. You can even pause if you need to sneeze or ask a question. This makes the entire process more comfortable and convenient. Additionally, the scanner allows us to show you a simulation of your potential Invisalign treatment outcome, giving you a preview of your new smile.

3D Printing for Mouthguards and Night Guards

We also use advanced 3D printing technology to create custom mouthguards and night guards. These protective devices are made to fit your teeth perfectly, ensuring maximum comfort and effectiveness. Mouthguards are often used for sports to protect your teeth from injury, while night guards help prevent damage caused by teeth grinding during sleep.

The 3D printing process starts with a digital scan of your mouth, capturing every detail. This scan is then used to design a custom mouthguard or night guard that fits your teeth precisely. 3D printing allows us to produce these devices quickly and accurately, ensuring you get the protection you need as soon as possible.

In addition to mouthguards and night guards, 3D printing is also used for modeling restoration results. For example, if you need a dental crown or bridge, we can create a 3D model of your teeth to plan and visualize the restoration. This helps us ensure that the final result looks natural and fits perfectly.

Digital X-rays

Digital x-rays are a crucial part of modern dental care, offering numerous benefits over traditional x-rays. They use 90% less radiation, making them safer for everyone, including individuals who have undergone radiation treatment for cancer. Digital x-rays provide clear, detailed images that we can enhance for better diagnostic ability. This helps us detect and treat issues early, improving your overall dental health.

  • Digital Panorex: Useful for patients who cannot open their mouth wide or have a strong gag reflex. It helps visualize impacted wisdom teeth, assess orthodontic needs, evaluate TMJ disorders, diagnose fractures and bone cysts, and plan dental implant placements.
  • Digital Tomography: Offers a cross-sectional view through a three-dimensional structure, providing accurate information for implant and surgical procedures. Combined tomography integrates cross-sectional and longitudinal views, giving three-dimensional information with consistent magnification.
  • Dental Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT): This special type of X-ray machine generates 3D images of dental structures, soft tissues, nerve paths, and bones in a single scan. We can use this for surgical planning, orthodontics, diagnosing TMJ disorders, accurate dental implant placement, and more.

We have many different procedures in which we can use digital X-rays.

  • Surgical planning for impacted teeth
  • Orthodontic assessments
  • Diagnosing TMJ disorders
  • Accurate placement of dental implants
  • Evaluating the jaw, sinuses, nerve canals, and nasal cavity
  • Detecting and treating jaw tumors
  • Determining bone structure and tooth orientation
  • Locating the origin of pain or pathology
  • Cephalometric analysis
  • Reconstructive surgery

Ultrasonic Scalers

We use ultrasonic scalers for efficient and effective cleaning of your teeth. These devices vibrate at a high frequency, breaking down bacterial cell membranes and removing plaque and calculus. After using the ultrasonic scaler, we use hand instruments, such as curettes, to perform fine hand scaling and ensure that we get rid of all remaining deposits. This combination of tools helps keep your teeth and gums healthy.
